Scotland. Alva is a former weaving village sheltering at the foot of the Ochil
Hills and was once the centre of the country's textile industry. The
fascinating history of the area can be explored at the Mill Trail Visitor
Centre. Situated 6 miles from Stirling and 40 minutes drive to Edinburgh or
Glasgow, Wee Neuk is an excellent touring base. The Ochil Hills offer splendid
views of the area, with peaks of more than 2000 feet and are a favourite with
hillwalkers and leisure walkers alike. Recently refurbished the flat is well

Thorntree is on the south side of the Carse of Stirling,
opposite Flanders Moss and the Lake of Menteith. It is very central and ideal
for self-catering holiday in Scotland. Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth, St Andrews
and the Highlands are all within very easy access. The ground floor of the barn
is given over to a multi purpose living room, kitchen and dining area, which
has patio doors onto the your own lawned garden (lots of room to kick a
football!). The kitchen area is equipped with cooker, microwave,
fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble drier and dishwasher. The bedrooms are
mainly furnished with antiques and are very comfortable. There are 3 twin
bedded rooms, one with a private shower. The other two rooms share a bathroom
and there is a separate WC. One of the bedrooms has an extra pull down bed
enabling the barn to cater for 7 people. Two of the rooms can be let as doubles
