Delgatie Castle sits peacefully amidst parkland and forests and is open to the public and boasts wonderful 16th century painted ceilings, displays of armoury, Victorian clothes and a unique baby's fourposter bed combined with the atmosphere of a lived in home make it a visit to remember.
"The Lairds Kitchen" in the Castle serves the very best in home made food whether is delicious soup, fish, or beef or the old fashioned puddings - bread and butter puddidng, or our delicious cakes which are world reknowned. The "Gift Shop" offer a lovely selection of unusual gifts for everyone.
The Lake offers excellent sport fishing for brown or rainbow trout with bank and boat fishing. One day's fishing for one person per week booked is also included in the price
The accommodation in the Castle itself or the Coach House is well appointed, comfy and warm and heating lighting, bed linen and towels are all included in the price. A welcoming tray when you arrive, beds ready made and the heating on - a good start to any holiday.
All the houses have washing machines, tumbledriers, microwaves and travel cots, high chairs and stairgates are available on request. The accommodation is open all year round
Locally there is much to do and see and guests say "a week is never enough". The local town of Turriff is a good shopping centre. The area is a golfers paradise, river and pond fishing is available, horseriding, clay pigeon shooting and much more. Delgatie is an ideal base for touring the Castle Trail, museums, heritage centres, and explore the Coastal trail. Take a boat ride from Macduff and see puffins, dolphins, minke whales. The Whisky trail lets you visit many distilleries and sample a dram of the "water of life" Delgatie won the "Best Visitor Experience" Award for 2003 - an award our customers voted us for - we can assure you of a warm wlecome, Scottish hospitality, plenty to do and see - be busy or relax and like many of our guests do, we are sure you will return.
