THE SETTING
SNOWDROP LODGE is situated at Bronaber in the picturesque elevated Trawsfynydd Holiday Village. It is a detached Norwegian Log Cabin accommodating 2 people overlooking the Rhinog Range of Mountains with the Cadair Idris to the South and Snowdonia to the North. It is just off the A470 near to Trawsfynydd, with easy access to Dolgellau and Portmadog, being a great place to base your self to discover the surrounding countryside and coast, ideal for that Romantic Break or Honeymoon. SNOWDROP LODGE is open all year round except for November and can be hired for a short break or a week or two.

There is on site a Mountain Bike hire service, a licensed convenience store, a launderette and a telephone.
Being in the Snowdonia National Park the surrounding area offers activities for everyone, Canoeing, White Water Rafting, Fishing, Bird Watching, Golf, Mountain Walking and Biking, Canyoning, Beaches, Castles, Steam Railways, and many more attractions. The local towns have market and fair days with festivals that range from Food and Beer to Country and Western.

- You only need to bring Linen, Double duvet cover, double bottom sheet, 4 pillow cases, towels and tea towels, because there is no street lighting a torch would also be useful.

Ideally set up for a couple who want a Romantic Break or just want to relax.
The Rhiw Goch Inn is 5 mins walk away and offers Free House and Cask Ales in public and lounge bars, the restaurant serves snacks and home made char grilled meals in the large eating areas, vegetarian and children's menu are also available, there is also a beer garden and games room.
THINGS TO DO
The Holiday Village acts as booking agents for Adventure Activities who offer outdoor activities for individuals and families. Their activities include mountain biking, rock climbing, abseiling, pot holing, canyoning, canoeing, guided mountain walks, scrambling and mountain navigation. The activities are very flexible so can be tailor made to meet different levels of fitness.
Mountain Biking and Cycling.
SNOWDROP LODGE is only 2 miles from the renowned Coed-Y-Brenin forest mountain bike trails, additionally the famous Marin Trail in Gwydyr Forest close to Betws-Y-Coed and the Mach 1, 2, 3, and Cli-Machx trails at Machynlleth are only 30 mins drive away. For those that prefer more leisurely cycle rides there is plenty on offer nearby too including the Mawddach Trail from Dolgellau, Lôn Ardudwy Barmouth to Portmadog, the Trail Quest facility in Beddgelert around Bala Lake and along Route 8 of the National Cycle Network.
Walking.
Being in the Snowdonia National Park whose mountains stretch for nearly 50 miles North to South and 25 miles East to West there are walks for all fitness levels ranging from high energy mountain walks through to low level strolls.
Beaches.
Sandy beaches can be found at Tywyn, Barmouth, Fairbourne, Dyffryn Ardudwy, Talybont, Shell Island, Llandanwg, Harlech and Black Rock Sands.
Fishing.
Game and coarse fishing opportunities are abundant in Snowdonia. Nearby lakes include Trawsfynydd Lake with wild native brown trout and stocked rainbow trout. At Eisteddfa fishery in Pentrefelin there is a carp lake, a pleasure lake and a trout lake. Bron Eifion has a 4 acre coarse lake stocked with carp, bream, tench, golden and blue orfe, roach and a 2 acre lake stocked with brown and rainbow trout. Excellent river fishing is available on various rivers throughout the region and shore and sea fishing is available along most of the coast line. Fishing permits for the River Eden (3 mins away) can be obtained from the site office.
Castles and Historic places.
The nearby well known ones are Harlech, Criccieth, Dolwyddelan, Beaumaris and Caernarfon which are Cadw owned. There are smaller historic sites and castles locally and several National Trust properties.
Caves and Mines.
Llechweld Slate Caverns in Blaenau Ffestiniog, Llanfair Slate caverns near Harlech and the Sygun Copper Mine at Beddgelert are all close by. They all offer tours.
Narrow Gauge Railways.
The Ffestiniog Railway runs from Portmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog, The Fairbourne Railway runs from Fairbourne to the Barmouth Ferry Station, and the Tal-Y-Llyn Railway runs from Tywyn to Nant Gwernol.
Golf Clubs.
There are approximately 20 courses in Gwynedd which include the championship links course at Aberdovey, Bala Golf Club overlooking the lake, Parkland courses in Betws-Y-Coed and Dolgellau, Fairbourne, Ffestiniog, Royal St David's Golf Club is located at Harlech and Portmadog Golf Club is next to Black Rock Sands.
Leisure Centres.
Leisure Centres with swimming pools can be found at Bala (18 miles), Harlech (25 miles), Portmadog (14miles), and Tywyn (25 miles). Further leisure centres are located at Dolgellau (10 miles) and Barmouth (19 miles).
Other adventure Activities.
Sailing and Windsurfing sessions at Bala Water sports Centre on Bala Lake, Glasfryn Park has go carts, Quads, bowling, archery and fishing.
Red Line indoor Karting is in Caernarfon and Adventure Mountain has off-road rally karting and quad trekking. Dragon Raiders Paintball Park is located between Criccieth and Phllheli. And Offaxis Wakeboarding and Surfing Academy in Abersoch offers courses or equipment hire. White-water Rafting is available at Canolfan Tryweryn, The National White-water Centre. Rope courses can be found in Padarn Country Park and Betws-Y-Coed and indoor climbing is at the Beacon Climbing Centre.
